Zone B: The Public Area
Crystal Mosque
Sitting atop the surface of the Terengganu River, this magnificently mesmerizing mosque is truly a sight to behold. With beautifully crafted frosted glass windows and meticulous calligraphy, it instills in the visitor a sense of serene and peaceful piety. As a place to worship Him, it is precisely this that is seeked: an ambience that puts you in a peaceful state of mind.
700 Muslims are able to prostrate themselves in prayer in the designated prayer hall which measures approximately 950 square feet. This comfortable hall is made even more so as it is fully air-conditioned and equipped with modern amenities. These include an automatic water dispensing system for wudhu’, or ablution, latest audio visual equipment, as well as a multimedia screen.
Convention Centre
As the biggest convention hall in the East Coast, the TTI Convention Centre can be considered the jewel in the crown of this brilliantly planned park.
Able to accommodate 2500 participants at any one time, this immensely airy Convention Centre is also amply outfitted with advanced audio visual and multimedia equipment to cater to a wide range of events and ceremonies. From a private and cozy tete-a-tete, to a public and expansive event involving third parties such as the media, security services or foreign organizations, the TTI Convention Centre is ready to serve you. It even provides free wireless internet service for those within reach of the Convention Centre.
A superbly spacious hall with 2000 square meters of floor space, it has seen the likes of many national and international events, of various kinds. The most elaborate event to date was the Islamic Arts Night 2009 and the convocation for students from the Islamic College of Science and Technology.
As a versatile event venue, this huge hall was also transformed into a studio for the shooting of a popular regional television programme aired on the ASTRO OASIS channel. Ar-Rayyan, a religious talk show hosted by Dato’ Dr Fatma El Zahra, had its third season filmed in mid-2009 at the Convention Centre.
Tok Ku Paloh Jetty
A stroll away from the Bbeteng is this wonderfully scenic jetty, which enables you to enjoy the serene splendour of the Terengganu River. This is the embarkation point for the TTI River Cruise, which will take you on a trip into the past, as the cruise guide recounts the historical significance of the various areas upstream as well as downstream.
As you return ashore, the jetty also houses the Arked Terengganu which is a marketplace/stall that offers a multitude of items that are sourced directly from the various factories.
Bbeteng Restaurant & Food Court
Just outside the Monument Park is the area called Bbeteng. Divided into 3 smaller areas, the first is the restaurant for you to dine in air-conditioned comfort while the Laman Selera is the alfresco dining area which has several food stalls that carry different fare. The third one is of course the TTI Souvenir Shop where one could find memorabilia and a wide range of special gifts for friends and family.
As an added-value service, all these areas are also covered with Internet connection via wireless fidelity (WiFi) for the convenience of all visitors.
Guest House
With approximately one sixth of the world’s population professing that Allah is The Almighty, and Muhammad s.a.w. is His messenger, the TTI’s future lies in attracting these Muslims which number approximately 1 billion individuals across the globe.
As a one-stop edutainment park that plans to provide all the necessities to provide for the visitors’ needs and desires, phase two of TTI’s development will include hotels as well as apartments. In the interim is the pilot phase accommodation of guest houses.
With modern amenities and facilities, TTI’s four units of guest house are a starting point for their future plans of providing accommodation for visitors and tourists. Currently, the four units can comfortably take 26 persons in total and each unit comes with three bedrooms.
Warrior Park
From the Saracens of the Crusade, to the famed Persian archers on horseback, to the last of the Uthmaniyah or Ottoman army, the Islamic Empire had seen many a warrior in the illustrious world history. As a commemorative note, this park pays tribute to all Muslims of yesteryear who struggled in the name of Islam.
Here, visitors are able to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as jogging on the prepared paths, or watching their children have the time of their lives at the playground, or more interestingly, enjoy a leisurely lap around the lake in a paddle boat.
